The rise of recreational Spanking
Aunty was delighted to see this cover from the Georgia Strait, a Vancouver-based weekly newspaper.
The lead story, (at the upper right of the couple) appears to be somewhat sensationalist, with headlines screaming out to potential readers: "Got Sex?"
But, if you read on, the sub-head states:
"For a growing number of young adults, swinging (they'd better be careful not to damage park toys - the kids will be very sad -ed.) and spankings (emphasis added) trump monogamy and the missionary position."Now Aunty is always cynical about newspaper articles trumpeting trends with little hard evidence. But there does seem to be an up-swing (no pun intended - ed.) in recreational spanking among young people seeking more exciting, less mainstream ways of expressing their sexuality.
Proof of this can be found all over Aunty's own little blog.
Have readers noticed an increase in spanking interest and play among the "youth of today?"

Aunty, One of the many reasons I've enjoyed your site is that you have posted many entries about young folks trying out spanking for recreation.
They almost always seem to be enjoying themselves a lot!
I observe considerable evidence that young folks think spanking is a completely legitimate form of recreation in some of the social networking sites like YouTube, Flickr, etc. But what I can't say is whether the numbers are higher than in the past. Perhaps we just get that impression due to the fact that such magazine articles and such "new media" venues simply weren't publised in the past.
Yes I must say the youth, as in up to 25s, do seem to have lost this taboo about spanking and it would appear to have become "par for the course" in their sexual activities

As one of these "youth" I sure hope so! It'll be much more fun that way! Now, must get out of conservative college town....
